OCIM Metals & Mining Joins the Swiss Precious Metals Association (ASMP)

OCIM Metals & Mining SA, the Geneva-based company of the OCIM Group, is now a member of the Swiss Precious Metals Association (ASMP), which brings together stakeholders in the Swiss precious metals industry around common standards for compliance, accountability, and transparency. As Switzerland occupies a central position in the global gold trade, its industry plays a decisive role in defining standards for responsible sourcing.

Historically, the ASMP has represented the downstream segment of the supply chain. OCIM brings to the association the perspective of an integrated operator active at the source. The group operates two processing facilities in the Arequipa region of Peru, and its model aims to ensure that every link in the chain meets the compliance and traceability requirements expected by institutional buyers, while also providing partner miners with access to the formal economy. This synergy between upstream and downstream operations will be at the heart of our discussions.

OCIM already operates in accordance with the standards championed by the association: it is a member of the LBMA, applies the OECD Due Diligence Guidance, has obtained the first level of Swiss Better Gold certification with the second currently in progress, and ensures ore traceability via the xTrace solution. Incorporated under Swiss law and subject to the Anti-Money Laundering Act (LBA), OCIM Metals & Mining aims to contribute to Switzerland’s voice on responsible sourcing, where market expectations are defined, and to align its upstream model with downstream requirements.
