Soleil Metals’ activities form the operational backbone of the integrated chain, from sourcing gold ore from artisanal and small-scale mining partners to processing the ore into doré bars across two plants in the Arequipa region.
Although the company is constituted under Peruvian law, its compliance framework is consolidated at OCIM Metals & Mining SA in Geneva under Article 6 of the FINMA Anti Money Laundering Ordinance. Swiss regulatory oversight applies directly to field operations.
Before opening a sourcing relationship, the region is assessed for country risk and operational viability. Partners are then onboarded under the OCIM upstream KYC framework, which involves providing 22 documents per partner aligned with the LBMA ASM Toolkit, screened against FATF, OFAC and EU sanctions lists, validated from Geneva.
Gold ore is purchased directly from documented artisanal and small-scale mining partners. Every purchase is matched against the onboarding baseline (origin, expected volume, processing site, beneficial ownership). Discrepancies trigger an immediate review protocol before the lot is accepted.
The ore is then processed into doré bars at one of the two plants in the Arequipa region. Each batch is weighed, sampled and screened against its onboarding fingerprint first. The ore is then crushed and ground, after which the gold is dissolved using closed loop cyanide leaching. It is then recovered onto activated carbon, and cast into doré.
Both ore and refined output are physically traded. Delivery to accredited refiners, with provenance that can be independently verified by any counterparty at any point in the supply chain.
AMLA supervision via consolidation at OCIM Metals & Mining SA under Article 6 OBA / FINMA. Country risk is managed at group level.
Swiss Better Gold Step 1 obtained on both plants. Step 2 audit programme initiated. RMI certification process underway.
Peruvian mining and AML regulation. Direct registration of miner partners with REINFO. Subject to ongoing local audit.
OCIM upstream KYC framework. Aligned with the LBMA ASM Toolkit. 22 documents, are screened against the FATF, OFAC and EU sanctions lists for each mining partner at the time of onboarding and periodically thereafter.
