The control tower in Switzerland

OCIM Metals & Mining SA (OMM) is the Swiss subsidary of the group. It is incorporated under Swiss law and is supervised by FINMA under Article 6 of the Anti Money Laundering Ordinance. Based in Geneva, OMM oversees the group’s  activities and manages the compliance framework applied across all entities. Vanessa Hungerbühler, formerly a compliance officer at Credit Suisse and UBS, legally responsible for that framework.

OCIM Metals & Mining also conducts two commercial activities in Geneva: physical gold trading and financing along the gold value chain.

Three activities from Geneva

Group compliance framework

The framework governing onboarding, sourcing and traceability across the group is designed and consolidated in Geneva. It applies the same customer knowledge rules that a bank uses for its counterparties to the ASM supplier: a geographic risk assessment against Conflict Affected and High Risk Area indicators, more than twenty documents per supplier file, on site verification of the mine and chemical fingerprinting of every incoming batch at the plant. Country risk is managed at group level.

Financing

OCIM Metals & Mining provides financing across the gold value chain: including operational financing for Soleil Metals and offtake and prepayment agreements with various other actors. The company also coordinates financial flows between the group’s entities and their commercial partners, while maintaining relationships with banking partners.

Trading

OCIM Metals & Mining acts as a trader on international markets, serving as the primary point of contact with institutional counterparties.

The compliance frame.

Swiss

FINMA supervision under Swiss AMLA, and Article 6 of the Anti Money Laundering Ordinance. This is the same regulatory framework that applies to Swiss banks, and is now being applied to a precious metals trader and producer.

Industry

The industry has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the World Gold Council in 2026 on the formalisation of artisanal mining. Full membership of the Swiss Precious Metals Association (ASMP) was granted in July 2026, alongside Switzerland’s leading refiners, traders and banks.

Sector

OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict Affected and High Risk Areas. LBMA ASM Toolkit as the sector reference for onboarding, sourcing and traceability.

Operational

OCIM upstream KYC framework. Designed and consolidated in Geneva, applied group wide. 22 documents are screened against the FATF, OFAC and EU sanctions lists for each mining partner at the time of onboarding and periodically thereafter.
