Xavier Miserez

Head of Physical Trading

Xavier Miserez leads the development of OCIM’s Offtake Business Unit.

He structures short-term financing, offtake agreements, and forward purchase solutions with upstream suppliers, while also fostering strong commercial relationships with downstream partners such as refiners, jewellers and banks.

He is responsible for ensuring the financial sustainability of the business unit through strategic budgeting, cost management, and long-term planning. Xavier also works closely with the Marketing & Communications department and represents OCIM at key industry events.

Prior to joining OCIM in 2024, Xavier spent over a decade at MKS PAMP SA in Geneva, where he held several roles, including Head of Sales. There, he managed teams across sales, onboarding and legal. He was also instrumental in launching new responsible sourcing programs, developing the “Provenance” product line. As a qualified attorney, Xavier holds a Master’s degree in Law from the University of Lausanne and a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Commodity Trading from the University of Geneva. He began his career at a Geneva-based law firm before moving into regulatory and compliance advisory at Ernst & Young.

Particularly interested in the progressive transformation of the gold ASM sector, Xavier embraces a pragmatic approach to building responsible supply chains — guided by the idea that “the perfect is the enemy of the good.”

When he’s not visiting mines around the globe, Xavier enjoys playing tennis and padel, and exploring the underwater world through scuba diving.

The perfect is the enemy of the good.
