Sophie Nouvel

In 2002, Sophie Nouvel obtained a DEA (postgraduate diploma) in private law devoted to fundamental contracts, then earned in 2004 the CAPA qualification and the title of attorney specializing in commercial business law and competition law.

From 2004 to 2017, she practiced as a commercial lawyer within the firm Decker & Associés and then founded her own practice, where she provided advice, negotiation, and litigation services on matters of commercial, banking, labor, corporate, and competition law, extending even to criminal business defense. At the same time, from 2011 to 2016, she served as Treasurer and Board Member of CARPA Toulouse Midi-Pyrénées, where she supervised the investment of client funds and led the creation of legal and financial oversight controls.

In 2018, Sophie joined the Weishardt Group (food-processing and pharmaceutical industries, seven subsidiaries in France, Slovakia, Canada, Japan, Spain, Hungary, and Poland) as General Secretary, Legal Director, and member of the Executive Committee (COMEX). For nearly seven years, she created and led the group’s legal affairs department, conducted M&A operations, governance projects, and financial restructurings, fulfilled the role of HR Director, and secured numerous international industrial projects. Wishing to connect law and finance, she complemented this background with two Corporate Finance programs at HEC Paris in 2024 and 2025.

In 2026, Sophie joined OCIM as General Counsel. As the reference person for all of the group’s legal affairs, she supports executive management, the compliance department, and the risk management department on contractual, corporate, and M&A matters, in a business-partner mindset. An attorney experienced in international matters, Sophie is both diplomatic and results-oriented, committed to teamwork and to smooth, day-to-day dialogue with her counterparts.
